ZOLL emsCharts Web 14.02

ZOLL emsCharts recommends that all customers utilize the new ZOLL UI (zoll.emsCharts.com) when completing charts online. While still available, the Legacy UI is not being updated with newly developed features and functionality and does not fully support NEMSIS v3.5. It is strongly recommended that Services that export to states that have converted to NEMSIS v3.5 utilize the “Force ZOLL UI Access” configuration option, as continued use of the Legacy UI when generating NEMSIS v3.5 files may result in NEMSIS errors.

Stroke Scale Scores

We expanded the ability to document a Stroke Scale Score for patients when the Stroke Scale selected is either Positive, Negative, or Inconclusive. Additionally, we fixed an issue that was allowing users to document RACE Stroke Scale findings for both Aphasia (Right Hemiparesis) and Agnosia (Left Hemiparesis) when the options should only allow one or the other to be documented.

Merge ZOLL Online and emsCharts user accounts

We added a new feature that prompts users to merge accounts when they have a ZOLL Online account that matches the primary email address saved to their emsCharts user profile. Merging the two accounts allows users to use their ZOLL Online account to login to both emsCharts and ZOLL Online. While this ability currently exists as a manual process for users who have had their emsCharts account migrated to ZOLL Online, the new feature will automatically prompt migrated and non-migrated users to merge their accounts, and allow them to seamlessly access emsCharts using their existing ZOLL Online credentials.

GNIS information

We updated GNIS information in the system, which is used when generating NEMSIS exports, to reflect the most up-to-date values for each city in each state. This update ensures that the GNIS information exported to NEMSIS is complete and accurate, reducing potential NEMSIS warnings and errors.

Specialty Equipment

We added a new option of 'TCM Device' to the Equipment field in the Specialty Equipment section on Page 1 of charts.

QA flag statuses

[ ZOLL UI ]

Users assigned with higher QA levels and have a Security Role that allows them to view Service incomplete charts not seeing the QA flag status of incomplete charts. QA flag statuses are now displayed when viewing Service incomplete charts to indicate if a QA flag has been answered, or if the QA flag still requires a response.

Interpretation Service Engaged

A new option for 'Interpretation Service Engaged' has been added to the Operations procedure on Page 8 of the chart. This new option allows for the documentation of the engagement of an interpretation service during a patient encounter. Since this is a discrete data field, Service Administrators can easily track and report on their Service's use of such resources. This value can be referenced in Data Validations, Custom Reports, and Analytics, and will be included in the emsCharts Custom XML, but will not be explicitly included in NEMSIS exports.

The following issues were fixed for release 14.02:

  • [ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ] Blood Product Administration fields documented on Page 8 appearing blank when opened for editing if a Blood Product Administration documented on Page 7 was deleted.

  • [ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ] Call Type field being excluded in the CAD Import when a chart was created from CAD. This update ensures that when a chart is created from a CAD Import that includes Call Type data, the Call Type is populated upon chart creation and users are no longer required to re-import CAD data after the chart has been created.

  • [ ZOLL UI ][ LEGACY UI ] Administrators with the appropriate security permissions were unable to reset a migrated user's ZOLL Online password from the User Profile page using the 'Reset ZO Password' button. Now, administrators with the appropriate security permissions can reset a user's ZOLL Online password regardless of whether the user's account was migrated to ZOLL Online.
